In 2023, the Anne Fund Sports Memorabilia Auction raised $20,000 for the Sechler Cancer Center. The goal for the 24th edition of the annual event is to raise $25,000, featuring a litany of high-quality items that attendees can add to their personal collections.
The Anne Fund is a nonprofit that describes itself as an “organization that funds Cancer related Organizations that provide treatment and aid to our community”. Its goal is “to help make a difference in the lives of those affected with cancer.”
Since the event’s inception, the Anne Fund Sports Memorabilia Auction has raised over $400,000, a significant contribution to our community. This substantial impact has enabled the full funding of the massage therapy program at the Sechler Cancer Center.
The community-led initiative was founded by Tom Gerhart after he experienced personal tragedy, losing his mother, Anne, to cancer in the late 1990s. Gerhart is a Cedar Crest alumnus who went on to play ten years of professional football, including time in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles. Since moving back to Lebanon and starting Gerhart Financial Services, the sports-themed auction is one of the ways he continues to give back.
While sports-related memorabilia gets top billing, a diverse range of items will be auctioned off, including baskets donated by local businesses. Here is a full list of the items to be auctioned.
Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 23rd. The Anne Fund Sports Memorabilia Auction, held at Hebron Catering Hall, will kick off at 5:00 p.m. The evening will unfold with a silent auction at 6:00 p.m., culminating in a live auction at 7:30 p.m.
The cost is $50 per ticket. Admission includes food from several local restaurants, soda, and beer. There will also be a cash bar.
